Day 1: Discover the Wonders of Tanis and Bubastis
As the sun rises, you'll be greeted by our expert Egyptologist guide, ready to whisk you away on a 30-minute drive to the mystical city of Tanis.
This city, steeped in biblical history, is none other than Zoan from the ancient land of Goshen, where Moses was discovered amidst the delta marshes.
Once the thriving capital during the New Kingdom era, Tanis is home to the awe-inspiring ruins of the temples of Amun, Mut, and Khonsu.
But the adventure doesn't stop there! Next, we'll journey to Bubastis, a two-hour drive from Cairo. Known as Per-Bast, this city was the worship center of the feline goddess Bast.
Here, you'll find remnants of temples dedicated to King Teti and Pepi the First, offering a glimpse into the past that's sure to captivate your imagination.

Day 2: Experience the Unique Sights of Cairo
Embark on an extraordinary journey with Sun Pyramids Tours, where every moment is designed to create lasting memories. Your adventure begins when our guide will pick you up from your hotel to explore the hidden gems of Cairo.
Our first stop is the renowned Cave Church of St. Simon. Nestled in the Moqattam Mountain, this site is home to seven unique cave churches, each with its own story to tell. The Monastery of St. Simon the Tanner, the largest among them, boasts an arena that can accommodate 20,000 spectators. This is a must-visit for those seeking a different perspective on Egypt's rich history.
Next, we journey through the heart of Cairo to the Garbage City, a local neighborhood known as Manshiyat Naser. This slum settlement, located southeast of Cairo, is home to the city's "Garbage People." These resilient individuals, primarily Coptic Christians, have served as Cairo's unofficial sanitation crew for decades.
The Garbage People first migrated to Cairo in the 1930s, driven by dreams of a better life. Despite their humble beginnings and lack of resources, they found innovative ways to survive, such as recycling the city's compostable waste to feed their pigs.
Today, they continue to play a vital role in Cairo's ecosystem. They collect trash from households for a small fee, which they then bring back to their neighborhoods in Garbage City. Here, they meticulously sort and recycle everything they can, repurposing it for their own use.
Please note, for your safety and comfort, we will be passing through the Garbage City without disembarking from the vehicle. The area is densely populated with garbage and has a strong odor, which could potentially cause health issues. Your safety is our utmost priority.
Our tour concludes with a visit to The City of the Dead, an Islamic necropolis and cemetery nestled below the Mokattam Hills in southeastern Cairo. This historical site offers a unique glimpse into Cairo's past.
