Next, head to the Great Sphinx, a majestic limestone statue with the body of a lion and the head of a human. The Sphinx is one of the most enigmatic and enduring symbols of ancient Egypt.
After visiting the Great Sphinx, explore the Valley Temple, a mortuary temple dedicated to King Chephren. This temple is known for its well-preserved reliefs and statues.
After lunch at a local restaurant, travel to Saqqara, home to the Step Pyramid of Zoser, the world’s oldest major stone structure. This pyramid was built in the 3rd Dynasty for King Djoser and is a remarkable testament to the engineering and architectural skills of the ancient Egyptians.

Travel in an air-conditioned car with your private tour guide to visit Pompey’s Pillar, a towering granite column constructed in honor of Emperor Diocletian in the fourth century AD.
Next, explore the Catacombs of Kom El Shoqafa, an ancient Roman cemetery consisting of three levels cut into the rock. This fascinating necropolis is one of the largest and best preserved in the world.
After lunch at a delicious local restaurant, visit the Qaitbay Citadel, a 15th-century fortress built on the site of the ancient Lighthouse of Alexandria. Climb the citadel’s ramparts for stunning views of the city and the Mediterranean Sea.
