Built around 2600 BCE, these monumental structures served as tombs for the pharaohs and are the last remaining of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World. The site showcases the engineering prowess and spiritual beliefs of ancient Egypt.

The Great Pyramid

The Great Pyramid of Giza, built around 2600 BCE for Pharaoh Khufu, is the largest of the three pyramids in Giza and the only surviving Wonder of the Ancient World. Standing at 481 feet, it was the tallest man-made structure for over 3,800 years. Its precise construction and alignment remain a testament to ancient Egyptian engineering and architectural skill.

The Great Sphinx

The Great Sphinx of Giza, carved from limestone around 2500 BCE, is a monumental statue with the body of a lion and the head of Pharaoh Khafre. Located near the Giza pyramids, it stands 66 feet tall and 240 feet long. The Sphinx symbolizes strength and wisdom and remains one of ancient Egypt’s most iconic and mysterious monuments.

The Valley Temple

The Valley Temple, was built during the reign of Pharaoh Khafre around 2500 BCE. This well-preserved mortuary temple was used for the mummification process and religious rituals. Constructed from limestone and granite, it features massive pillars and stark, minimalist architecture, highlighting the grandeur of ancient Egyptian design.

The Hanging Church

The Hanging Church, or Saint Virgin Mary's Coptic Orthodox Church, is one of the oldest churches in Egypt, dating back to the 3rd century. Located in Old Cairo, it gets its name from being built above a Roman fortress gate. The church is renowned for its beautiful wooden ceiling, icons, and intricate architecture, making it a key site for Coptic Christian history and culture.
